The illustrator used many different elements of art to engage the reader and bring the reader into the setting. There is the presence of bright primary colors that attract the young reader. It shows the color strokes and details with the drawing in the mouse and surroundings. The pictures composition flows the readers eyes across the page to view each aspect of the scenes and details of the room. The illustrations are detailed and great composition allowing the reader to feel the fantasy of the story through the pages.
